“Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe.” ~Gail Devers

The power of thought affects us and those around us.  When one has negative feelings, so will those same feelings affect those closest.  Positive feelings and thoughts will do the same.  So it comes down to beliefs.  Whatever you believe about yourself will come to pass in the real world. Claude Bristol wrote about this in his book, The Magic of Believing.

When I declared as a child that I could never speak in public because I wasn’t worthy and I stuttered, that was exactly what happened.  It was the belief that I held inside at that time that led me to hold back for so many years.

It was also the same thing when I started to change how I felt and believed about myself did I start engaging in public speaking.  And it has only increased to the point that I believe I am really good in public speaking and I teach others too.  Those around me could never believe that I was once too scared and had no ability to speak in public.  They believe what I believe about myself.

Unless one is high on the narcissism scale, we all go through some doubts in our lives. Those that believe in themselves learn how to get past their doubts and move forward.  The more times they do this, the better they will get at increasing their personal belief.  That was exactly what I did in public speaking.  The more times I spoke, the more I believed that I could do it.

Others will take notice of both your actions and your personal belief.  If you have doubts about yourself, so will they.  Our internal thoughts are projected outward.  It may manifest itself in our body language and vibrations.  People will pick up subconsciously how you feel about yourself.  How many times have you had some ask you if you’re feeling okay?  Even if you never said anything?  You simply projected those bad feelings.

Here are three suggestions that will help you increase your personal beliefs:

  1. Write down in a journal all the things you’ve had to overcome and even succeeded in.
  2. Using self-hypnosis, suggest to yourself that you have the power to positively change and even have done it many times already. Bring in all your senses and positive emotions to increase the strength of the suggestion.
  3. Take action on that which you fear.  Overcoming any fear helps to increase one’s belief in themselves.

When you have more belief in yourself, so will others.  When you have more belief in yourself, so will those you influence have more belief in themselves.  Your thoughts are powerful.  They build you up or destroy you.  Start thinking in a more powerful way that is constructive to all, especially to you.  Start believing in your abilities.  And realize that you are worthy of success. You are only limited by your beliefs. When you go from limited to unlimited, then you will surely be unlimited in success.
