Dreams never will happen unless effort is applied towards making them happen. It’s the same with any goal or anything worthy. Whether it’s losing weight, becoming wealthy or even attaining a college degree, it take work. Every great success story was preceded by a “can-do”, “will-do” and “just doing it” attitude. There never has been an overnight success story. Every single successful person made a concerted effort to get to where they got to.
And yet, work is not always work. It has to be work and effort done smart and right. If you do the same things without getting the results towards your dreams, then that is just plain stupid. Yes, work hard and also work right. This reminds of the old story of the two lumberjacks going at it cutting down trees. One lumberjack was big and strong and the other just an average guy.
They agreed to a contest to see who could fell the most trees. The bigger lumberjack, known for his amazing strength, used his saw continuously to take down trees. The other one would saw and every hour he would stop to sharpen that saw. Both put the effort and passion into winning the contest. At the end of the contest, it was the smaller lumberjack that had felled the most trees and was declared “The Best Lumberjack in All The Land.”
A big part of working towards your dreams or anything else is to work smart and hard. If you need some learning, get it. And take action immediately. Inertia is also not smart or right. When you reach a certain point in your work that leads to stagnation, then make changes. Adapt and do different things that will keep the forward momentum. If you have a goal to lose a certain amount of weight and hit a plateau, then discover what adjustments you can make. In that case, it is smart and right to keep track using a journal, a tape measure and a scale. That way you may discover that you may have actually added muscle, burned fat and lost inches.
Be a hard, smart and right worker towards your worthy goal.
