Consequences

The things we do now may have certain consequences later on.  Even the smallest thing can lead to change down the line.  In everything we do, there are consequences.  I remember as a child and curious about how things worked, so I took a screw driver and played with an outlet.  Zap!  I had that shock!  I suffered a consequence, though I had no idea that would happen.  I did learn not to do that again.  So a consequence with a lesson learned.  And I’ve made my fair share of mistakes in other actions.

We will never know that what we did when we were much younger may come back to haunt us later in life.  In today’s world those behaviors may lead to bad consequences.  In social media, many young people have exhibited behavior that may one day lead them to realize the consequence of that behavior.

Take South Korean Pop Sensation, Park Jae-sang, aka: PSY.  He gained worldwide popularity because of his ‘Gangnam Style’ song and dance routine.  He has earned $millions in the United States because of it.  And I have to had it to him for creating this amazing example of taking a risk and going bold.  What may hurt him in the United States is what he did back in 2004, when he performed at an anti-United States concert in South Korea.  He performed a song in which the lyrics spurted out hate towards the U.S.  At one point in the song, it came out with these words, “Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law, and fathers/Kill them all slowly and painfully.”  He has recently apologized.  Is this too late?  Is he apologizing in realizing that he may lose out with his upcoming album?  Who knows.  It’s simply an example of the past coming back to haunt him now.

Even the smallest thing that we do can lead to consequences in the future.  In science fiction movies, it is a popular theme to travel back in time.  In physics, if this were to occur and the even the smallest change being made can create a paradox.  What if you were able to travel back in time (let’s say 500 years ago) and accidentally bumped into one person, who in turn missed out on an opportunity to meet a certain person that would lead to future generations?  Many people may not have been born, while others would have.  Maybe certain inventions would not have happened.  Or anything else.  Just because of a small bump that created a distraction.  And led to a future consequence, the alteration of future events.

Everything we do leads to a consequence, whether bad or good.  What are you doing now that may lead to a consequence based on that action or behavior?  What have you done in the past that has led you to where you are at now?  What will you do different now to help create a different outcome for your future?  By the way, not doing anything is a behavior too.

Have fun doing and do it great!
