Not long ago I was talking to someone who I just met regarding exercising. This gal wanted to know this and that about working out. I asked her what she currently does and she said nothing. I asked her why and she stated that didn’t have the time. That is typical of the excuses that I heard through the years. Time was one and money was another. There are so many more.
I’m gonna tell you that getting into exercising is not about time or money or anything else. It’s about motivation. If a person is motivated enough, they will start to exercise. If their doctor told them that they had 6 months to live and the only way to live longer and keep going for many more decades was to start exercising, then they would do whatever it takes to do so.
Each person has to find his or her motivation to fitness. It starts from inside. Money would only be a short-term solution. Look at many of ‘The Biggest Loser’ contestants. The ones that were externally motivated usually went back gaining all the weight back they lost on the show. And that includes past winners. The ones that were internally motivated, kept it off.
Find your own reason why you want to get fit. Make sure that it comes from deep inside of you. Keep it emotionally-based so that you will take action. And action that is continuous. You may have to look at what gives you joy too. If you make fitness fun, then you’ll more likely take action. Eventually fitness will become a positive habit to you, not some drudgery that you “need” to do. It will be something you “want” to do. And that is important.
Keep yourself motivated towards fitness and it will do you and your body good.
Cheers,
Bob
