So many people dream of owning their own business and living the life of luxury. They believe that it’s all fun and they get to do whatever they want. They may look at the entrepreneur that made it big and owns the big house and drives the fancy car. And they want the same.
What those people don’t see is the truth of “making it big.”
They didn’t see the endless hours that the entrepreneur put in with very little money coming in. In fact, the entrepreneur probably maxed-out her credit card and borrowed more.
They didn’t see the entrepreneur working day and night and wondered how he or she was going to make ends meet.
They didn’t see the bankruptcies that many entrepreneurs went through before they finally made it.
They didn’t see the passion that had to be maintained by the entrepreneur when he had to wear many hats.
They didn’t see the lack of support when things got really tough.
They didn’t see the uncertainty of risking everything for her dream. That includes failing.
They didn’t see that the entrepreneur was closer to being homeless than living in a big house or driving a beat up old car than some fancy Mercedes.
They didn’t see this going on for years in many cases. Years of barely scraping by just to eat crumbs. Years of a lot of sweat and thoughts of calling it quits (though they kept going). Years of never going on a vacation or taking time off. And then they finally making it big after years of living life hard.
All the average person sees is the big house and the fancy cars. All they see is that the entrepreneur became wealthy. And all they see is that life is not fair for them because these 2% have it and they don’t. So they complain.
So, let me ask you…
Are you willing to go through years of endless struggle to make it big?
Are you willing to put in the time to do it?
Are you willing to give up a steady paycheck for uncertainty?
Are you willing to give up vacations and weekends?
Are you willing to give up going out at night?
Are you willing to give up relaxing at home and watching TV?
Are you willing to give up watching a sporting event or some other type of activity?
Are you willing to risk losing all you have, including your house?
Are you willing to risk losing many of your friends and isolating some of your family?
Only then will you ever have the wealth that the entrepreneur so deserves. And if you don’t, then don’t complain. It was your choice.
