stay-focused-in-school

I remember years ago when I first started giving advice as a career, many of my friends and others would ask me for it for free.  So I did.  It was the same in other areas where I provided help.  That included hypnosis, fitness, etc… While this may seem well and good, it’s not.  When I stopped giving my direct coaching away for free, I was yelled at and more.  Heck, I lost friends.  I’m not saying that I still don’t give my best stuff away for free.  On the contrary, all anyone has to do is read my articles and I’ll soon be releasing more videos.

You see, I love to help, just not to the point where it takes me away from my focus.  And that is the inherent problem with most people in the the helping business.  They give and give and get nothing back.  There work become devalued.  And they are broke.  Most will eventually give up their dream work and go find a job.

The secret to getting yourself back on track and focused towards your dreams is through using one word… NO!  Just say no. That’s it.  When you say no to those closest to you as well as in social media, then you’ll be a point where you can help yourself.  Am I saying to get selfish?  In a sense, yes.  Because, when you are more selfish, then you be better at focusing on your needs first.  And when that happens, you’ll make more money and eventually have more time.  And guess what will happen?  You’ll be at a position where you can help more people.

On top of that, those that you said no to will finally learn how to stand on their own and not use you as a crutch.  They will grow.  By the way, through my work regarding clients who paid and those who didn’t, the ones that paid took more actions towards their goals.  The ones that didn’t, didn’t.

I say to you, just say no and get focused.  Just do it!

Cheers,

Bob
