Leaders are constantly under pressure to ensure success towards their objective. They lead people in order to make sure that all work together as a team. This eventually leads towards their ultimate destination and completion of their mission. Being a leader takes a certain amount of stamina. They should be fit and healthy to increase stamina and resilience.
Too many times we’ve all seen the overweight and out-of-shape leader struggling to lead. When they are unhealthy, it also affects how they think. And thinking is important as a leader. So the focus of this post is to get leaders to take notice of where they are at regarding their personal health. And how does that affect how they lead.
Not only that, but when those you supposedly lead may not see you in the best light. What if you were to ask yourself, “How does my level of health and fitness affect my team?” How would it change your perception? If not, they why? You see, the success of any mission always starts with the leader. A fit and healthy leader leads to fit and healthy team.
Leaders set the example for the rest. Still, many leaders follow the old saying, “Do as I say, not as I do.” In reality this has never been successful. Children look to their parents actions on how to behave. It’s the same in the business environment too.
So, being healthy and fit is an example that each leader should set for who they lead. Take charge of yourself so you can better lead others. Lead by example.
