Whenever you go after something, including a goal, make sure that you do it with your very best effort. It’s never enough to do just enough, except when enough is your best. Too many people have only given just enough to get by in their lives. Then they complain when they don’t get the promotion or don’t make enough money or don’t get the recognition.
Just because you think you deserve something, doesn’t mean you really deserve it. Only through your efforts will you reach what you truly deserve. If you give mediocre efforts, then you deserve mediocre. If you give it your best effort, then that’s what you’ll get back. And it has to be consistent. Coach John Wooden once said: “Perform at your best when your best is required. Your best is required each day.”
In this clip from Facing the Giants (http://www.facingthegiants.com/), shows what giving your best really means in terms of mind and body.
