Life transitions lead to change. Wherever each of us is at right now, it certainly is different than it was last year. Change happens and it will always happen. Even if you don’t believe it will, it certainly will. Heck, if you were to look at picture of yourself 10 years ago and compare it to one now, you see physical changes. Change can be positive or negative. It is simply how you look at it.
Many friends I had years ago are no longer part of my life. New ones have come in with new relationships. New careers is part of that change. One day you may be working in a thriving industry and then BOOM! It died! Now what do you do? Either you accelerate your adaptation or you simply become part of the historical note of something that once was (as far as work is concerned). Change happens.
Even calculus is about change (and motion). It takes into account how variables will change. And when used in the area of a physics project, like acceleration, we can see how it works. Change is in everything, including math. And I know how many of you like math, right? Hahaha! Change be fun too! Just not so much in mathematics for some. Unless you are calculating different variables of winning in gambling. LOL!
Change happens in fitness too. I know many of my friends that were amazing athletes and even some that had played in the NFL. Today, they are but a former shell of where they once was, physically. On the other hand, I’ve seen people that came into their own athletically at an older age. People who once shunned athletic competition when they were younger are now heavily involved. And then there are those who have found their “second wind” as an older athlete. They simply have brought forth their former selves into their new selves (like yours truly).
Once we accept that we have changed and that life around us have changed, then we are able to move forward into a new adventure. We can move with those changes and even create new ones of our own. In that sense, we become life changers.
I wish you much happiness and success as you go through life’s changes.
Bob
