Whichever direction you decide to take regarding your health, the compound effect will show-up sometime later in your life. You may not notice any problems right now or even tomorrow and neither did many others. If you were to ask a teenage from 30 years how he felt about smoking cigarettes every day as well as drinking a sodas, he will say that he feels okay. He will fully believe that he will always be fine.
If you were to ask that same guy today, who still smoke and drinks sodas, how he feels, he may say, “I feel like crap!” Oh, and he will probably look 20 years older than his age, suffer from heart disease, diabetes, is obese, has breathing problems, a face full of wrinkles and more… You see people, it’s that compound effect that builds upon itself, day after day, month after month, year after year, that really counts.
What you do now may not seem like much. The consistency that you put into your activities will show up years from now.
Let’s go back 30 years ago and talk to another teen. This teen is focused on living a healthy and optimal life. His goals are to learn and keep learning. He drinks water, eats healthy, doesn’t smoke, exercises and has a great outlook. As the years goes by, he continues to learn and gets fitter than ever. Today, he looks 20 years younger and feels fantastic! And his fitness level rivals anyone 30 years younger.
Which person would you rather be? BTW, I only mentioned “he” just to keep it consistent. It could have been two females.
You have a choice at every moment. Just realize that years from now you will have wished that you could have made better choices in life regarding your health. Or you did make them and will benefit fully throughout your life.
Cheers,
Bob
