Lately, I’ve fallen into the reduced sleep and increased cycle.  This happens more frequently than we all will admit.  Though, awareness is important in order to take care of it.

I tell my clients to make sure they get adequate sleep and rest in order to reduce their levels of stress and anxiety.  Actually, stress is a misnomer.  I should say distress.  There is another kind of stress called eustress (which is the good kind).  Exercise is a form of eustress as are certain challenges that keep one into a state of flow.

A recent study came out talking about the consequences of not getting enough sleep.  As reported in this article, Sleep better, weigh less, from Fox News, stress and obesity increase with a lack of sleep.  What happens is that to compensate for feeling sleepy and tired, many people will go for the sugary carbs.   Also, a reduction in the metobolic rate occurs.

Getting sleep and rest a key to living a healthier and fit life.  To reduce worries and anxiety that may lead to part of the problem in not sleeping, simply find a quite place and meditate… Add deep breathing and you’re good to go… Learning to live in the present is part of this process..

Soon you will find yourself back in the groove, losing fat and feeling better than ever… Yes, and getting more sleep…
