failure

Every January 1st it’s the same thing, many people will set resolutions towards what they believe they want to happen. They’ll get started and then, BOOM!… They self-destruct in a short period of time.  While there are those very few that are able to realize their resolution goals, most do not. Come December, those same people will set the same resolutions once again.

Are you the same way? Setting resolution after resolution after resolution and only to never complete them?

There are many reasons why people fail at attaining their resolutions, goals and dreams. The main reason is that there is no concreteness to them. If you can’t see them as if they are truly real, then you can’t make them happen. Every successful dreamer turned their dreams into reality because those dreams were real. All they had to do was to discover the right path to reaching them. They also realize that there will be struggles along the way because the path is never a straight one.

Grit and determination is a big part of the key. Do you have them?  If not, then how do you think you’ll ever make your resolutions happen?  You’ve got to persist until the end. You’ve got to make adjustments along way, knowing that the road has many twists and turns.

With the right mindset, the right plan and the right actions, you’ll be well on your way to ensuring success of any and all your resolutions. Lose any part of those rights, then you’ve certainly put yourself on the wrong road. If you find yourself deviating from your path, you can adjust. Get your rights back. If your plan is leading you astray, learn from what went wrong and find the right way.

The right mindset includes grit and determination. It also includes your reason why for each resolution you’ve set. Believe in yourself and your dreams. If you want to lose weight, then why do you want to? Don’t simply make it superficial. Losing weight or any other resolution should have a deeper meaning to it. Find that why?

The right plan towards a goal is a must. Your plan should include the right resources. Resources can be the right people, any money, reading materials and so forth. It will be different in different situations. In losing weight, will you need a weight loss coach and/or personal trainer? Who do you have as your support system? What potential challenges will you face? With what criteria will you determine certain milestones during your journey? How will you know that your plan is working the way you want it to? Any good plan should be fluid and not set in stone. Some refer to this as a natural plan.

The right actions are the daily steps you do regarding your plan. If you have been down this path before, then you already know what works and what doesn’t work. You move towards doing the right actions. Even if you make a mistake, make sure that each mistake keeps you moving forward and you don’t revisit the same ones. If you simply sit all day and are engaged in social media, is that a right or wrong action? Think of this, each day you have 1440 minutes. How will you spend each one? When doing the right actions, consistency counts.
