Tell-Us-Your-Story

From the time each of us was born, we started the story of our life.  Every story has a beginning, middle and end.  Throughout our life there will be ups and downs, failures and successes, excitement and boredom.  Like a good story, there will also be some drama.  Wherever you are at in your life right now, your story continues.

You can take from your past and apply it into your future.  Some of the best stories will have some of the deepest pain involved.  From there the person who suffered the pain comes through in triumph.  People love those kinds of stories.  What is your deepest pain?  What will be your greatest triumph?

Every narrative has six elements:

  1. Setting – This is where the story takes place.
  2. Character – The description and background of the character.  In this instance, that will be you.
  3. Plot – These are the events within the story.
  4. Conflict – This the conflict between two forces.  In your case, it may be the struggles you went through.
  5. Climax – This is the most powerful part of the story, the emotional peak.
  6. Resolution – Where the conflict is resolved.

As you move through your life, you are constructing it along the way.  Each moment you will write parts of it through your actions, your decisions.  How it ends up is ultimately up to you.  Do you want to be the hero that triumphs over your struggles?  Or will you simply give in and become some back alley bum?

Think about where you are at right now.  And from that, start creating a masterpiece where you are the hero that beats the odds and wins.  Your actions is the writing instrument of your personal narrative.  Get out and give those moments your best effort.  One day your story will be told to others.

Cheers,

Bob
